Looking for a versatile and cost-effective LED light to take your video production to the next level? I got just the solution for you in today’s video blog.

Hi there internet fans, Ryan Perry. And today’s video blog, let’s talk about lighting. Specifically, I’m going to talk about the Powerextra 330. And, it’s called the 330 because it has three hundred and thirty beautiful LEDs and it puts out 25 watts of power. Which is a lot of light.

Now, a couple of reasons why I decided to buy this unit. Yes, I did buy this last night on Amazon. I spent 49 dollars and 99 cents. And, just so know, this is not an affiliate program. I’m not getting paid. I wasn’t asked to shoot this video. This is a product that I use and I really do enjoy using around the office to shoot videos. And, I just want to add value and let you guys know what’s working for me. So, you don’t have to go through all the expense mistakes that I’ve gone through. So, 49 dollars and ninety-nine cents and what do you get? So, you don’t get everything that you see here. The tripod does not come with the unit. Also, there’s a battery on back – just makes it a little bit easier to hold it right now. That does not come with it. But you’ve got this light unit comes pre-done with the barn doors. You don’t have to assemble anything, so you can actually angle the lighting which is really nice with the barn doors here.

The other thing that it comes with is diffusers and I just threw one on the ground. The unit comes with three diffusers. There’s a clear, this pinkish purple one and an orange. I like to use these every now and then, the different colors, just kind of add a little accent color on the wall. Here, I’ll set one up for you. I’ve got another one of these unit’s, same exact model off to the side here. And, just going to throw in the orange. There we go. We got a little orange background.

The other thing the unit comes with is a remote. Now, this remote’s kind of cool. Obviously, it’s got off and on and you can do power. I can make it brighter or dimmer in 10 percent increments. But, it also has two color ranges. It’s got a 3200k and a 5500k that you can work independently. It’s got two rows of buttons plus and minus for that. The other thing that’s really nice about this, is it has three different channels one two and three. So, you can actually operate up to three different lights independently of each other with just one remote. Or, if you want to you can put all the lights on one channel and that’s what I do. That way I can just turn it on and see how bright that is. That’s only at 50 percent. Or, if I want to take my background light as an example and just bump it up a little bit I can go ahead and do that. And, what I really love about having the remote is that I shoot a lot of videos by myself. So, I’m setting up lighting… so as an example let’s get this out of the way. I have the plant behind me and the little vase. I know I need to put something in there. But, let’s say I’m setting up my video. I turn my light on and then kind of checking things out and I’m like, ‘ooh that’s throwing a lot of shadow’. I can actually look at my monitor see that. And then I can come in here and adjust accordingly. I’d like a little bit brighter than that. Bump it up. All right. That’s about good there.

So, if I have the light in front of me. If I want to see how much light is falling on my face. If I have the light as a key light as an example, I’d go ahead and use the remote. Absolutely love it.

Couple other great features that I love about this light besides it being small and versatile, is the fact that you can’t put a battery on this. So, I can take it wherever I want and in fact if I take it off the tripod it’s very lightweight. So, if I wanted to go out and run and gun I could go ahead and do that. Additionally, it’s got a tripod mount down at the bottom. It’s not the but screwed in, it’s 3/8’s I believe mount for a tripod, so you can go ahead and put it on a small tripod like this. And what I typically like to do is set this on the ground. Throw some light up behind me just to accent the wall a little bit.

You can also put it on a light stand using that same adapter or it also has a hot shoe adapter so on your camera itself where you would normally put a external flash device in your hot shoe. You can go ahead and put this right on the camera when you need to shoot, when you need constant light going all the time. Very, very versatile.
