Video Marketing For Small Business – Get Found on Google!

Are you a small business owner wanting to get ranked on the first page of Google? I’m going to show you a really easy way using video and YouTube.

Hey there, internet fans! It’s Ryan Perry with Simple Biz Support. In this video, I want to show small business owners, people that are on a really tight budget or they’re just frustrated with the SEO services that they’ve used in the past and they want to kinda take control of it on their own, how to get ranked on the first page of Google. And in this video, I’m going to show you specifically how to use video to get ranked on the first page of Google. It’s actually a lot easier than you think. Let’s actually jump into the computer real quick and I’ll show you what I mean.

Before I go into the two steps that are really important for getting video ranked on Google, I want to show you some examples. Here’s an example of a video, it’s ranked number five and right down here, you can see that it took two minutes in order to get on the first page of Google. Here’s another one, it’s ranked number two, it took three minutes to rank on the first page of Google. And in fact, in this last video, you’ll notice that YouTube hasn’t even rendered an image for it, it ranked that quickly. It’s really impressive what video can do for rankings when it’s done correctly. Here’s one towards the bottom of page one, 51 seconds, it’s on the first page. Let’s just check out one more, here’s one, 45 seconds ranked number one. Really, really powerful what video can do for you, when it’s done correctly.

Here’s what I want to show you. Here’s a video I did for myself, marketing my business. I do internet marketing, specifically video marketing. You as a business owner watching this, I want you to think about your Google search. What is it that people are going to search for as it relates to your business? If you’re a dentist, it may be I need a new dentist, it could be teeth whitening, etcetera. Electrician, replace a plug, how to fix a light bulb. Auto body shop, an estimate, what is it going to cost to fix my car? There’s a wide range. I always start with the five W’s, the who, what, when, where, why and then of course the how on top. As far as, what is it that people typically ask you the first time? Well, they’re probably asking those same questions, or making statements like, “Oh, I want to look up video marketing, so I’m going to go check it out.” Now there’s two parts to this. One is going to be the actual keyword phrase, what it is that people are going to type in. The second part is called geo targeting, that is specifying the exact city your services are in that you want to target.

Now, my business is located in Rohnert Park, so I created a video. And here, you can see the title is, Video Marketing Rohnert Park, California, it’s up on YouTube. This one, I uploaded a day ago, it’s ranked number one and it’s doing very well. In fact, video does so well, it will often outrank my website, and right down here is my actual website. Even though my website’s been established for a long time, this video that I uploaded a day ago is already ranked number one.

This video, let’s take a look at it real quickly. What you’ll notice with this video, a couple of things that I did, is I incorporated into the title of the video, the keyword, video marketing, and then I also geo targeted. I told YouTube exactly who this video is for. If anybody is googling, Video Marketing Rohnert Park, I want this video to pop up. Additionally, in the description down here, the very first sentence, I’ve talked about video marketing services in Rohnert Park. And I also included my phone number, so that when somebody sees this, if they like the information and they’re interested, it makes it real easy for them to call because pretty much everything else is going to be below the fold, especially on cellphones. All of this content that we see is called above the fold, all the content below is below the fold. So, if I put my phone number down here at the bottom, it’s not going to do much good. For those that opened up, I did put it in two places, so I have a final call to action.

But what’s really important is what is this keyword phrase? Video marketing service. Again, if you’re a dentist, you might want to do general dental or if you’re looking for a new dentist in Rohnert Park, give us a call. A little bit of content as to what this video’s about.

The other thing a lot of people don’t know is that YouTube, when it comes to ranking, is also looking at the last sentence in the description. So, the top and the bottom are very, very important. We want to make sure we have not only the keyword but the city that we’re going to geo target and this is how I get videos to rank. This is at least the first step, there’s more to it, but for a lot of people this is a very good way of getting videos ranked.

Now, if you are a business who is located near other cities, so as an example, I’m in Rohnert Park. However, Santa Rosa is a much larger city than Rohnert Park, therefore I would like to be found there also. All you need to do is create another video that is about Santa Rosa. So this video is going to have very similar content, however you’ll notice the description, or the title, excuse me, actually says video marketing services in Santa Rosa, and then if we actually look at the description, look at that, Video Marketing Services, Santa Rosa.

I could create another one for all the different cities, and in fact I’m going to, that way I can saturate my local area that I want to be found in. Going back to you dentists, electricians, plumbers, general contractors, what is it that people are searching for online? What cities are they in? And all you need to do is incorporate that into your title, and also into your description, upload it to YouTube, and this is going to be a great place to start.

Now, one caveat. If you’re in a big, metropolitan city, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, is this going to work all the time? It really depends on how competitive your market space is. In smaller less competitive market space, where people are not doing a lot of SEO work, they’re not doing a lot of video marketing, it will more than likely work for you. If you’re in a more competitive market, attorneys, typically very competitive, is this going to work? Probably not. Again, large competitive cities, probably not. For you local people, smaller cities, instead of focusing on LA, maybe try and work on the outside cities instead of on the core city that everybody’s going to be in.

The other thing is your YouTube channel will make a difference. If you have a brand new YouTube channel, and there is no content on it, let me go ahead and jump on to my, and you have no content in there, it’s not going to have the same value. However, if you have a YouTube channel that you’re uploading content on a regular basis, Google and YouTube are going to give you preference because you’re actually adding value.

I always like to think of it as an encyclopedia. If I’m going to sell you an encyclopedia that’s this thick, you might be interested in it. However, if the competition has an encyclopedia that’s this thick, you’re more likely going to go with that because it has more information.
