In early 2014, Facebook really started pushing video on their website. Now, the key thing from a business point of view why I recommend uploading video not only to YouTube but also directly to Facebook is this live preview.

As you’re scrolling through a feed and somebody’s playing a video, the video will automatically start playing, and it’s a great way to catch people’s attention. And if you can catch people’s attention they’re more likely to watch it. This is a video that I directly uploaded, and this is a video that is linked to my YouTube channel.

Now, the other advantage is, if I’m trying to boost visibility to my YouTube channel I may want to incorporate a link instead of uploading directly. The other side is, if you upload directly it makes it much easier for people to share the video, and that is really key when you’re doing social media on Facebook.
