The 70-20-10 rule is very important, because we want to make sure that we’re posting appropriate content throughout the day. A lot of business owners just want to sell, sell, sell.
Well, how appropriate is that to the person on the other side? When you think about yourself when you’re on social media, what type of activities do you respond to that you like, share, or comment to? To illustrate the 70-20 rule, I’m going to grab this infographic from care to service. And essentially it’s that 70% of the information really needs to be fun, relevant information that’s engaging to your audience, 20% should be about other people in your community, and only 10 is going to be any type of selling or promotion for your business. The 70-20-10 rule is a great rule of thumb to keep your audience engaged on a day-to-day basis.
