For this tip, I’m going to use Traffic Travis. If you haven’t downloaded it, I highly recommend that you do. It’s free. And then if you end up liking it, they do have a pro version that’s $99. But in the free one, you can go to this SEO tab, then Competition. Type in a keyword that you want to see what your competitors are doing to be on the first page. Click “Fetch” under Google. And then once it’s all done, click “View details.”

And what it’s going to do is, it’s going to give me the top 10 websites, the websites that ranked on the first page of Google. And it’s going to give me a lot of useful information, such as backlinks, are they using this exact keyword phrase in their title description? And additionally, it’s going to give me social media. How active are these competitors on social media? This is going to give me really good insight of what I need to do in order to be competitive. And is this a keyword that I want to go after? So check out Traffic Travis, and run this competition detail report. I think you’ll find it worth your while.
